All about the Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel Hike

Chisapnni Nagarkot and Dhulikhel hike is also known as the Kathmandu Valley Trek. It is the shortest trek from where you can witness the pristine mountain range, green mountains, paddy field, mustard field, and rural lifestyle. The trail passes through village to village, rivers, water falls and hillsides.

Apart from scenic landscapes and mountains, you must try the local foods of different village. You trek starts from the Sundarijal to chisapani.After spending night over there, you will be heading towards the Nagarkot.  You will walking through the forest. Nagarkot is popular for sunrise, sunset and the mountain range. You will head towards Dhulikhel, after spending night in the Nagarkot. Then you will return back to hotel room in Kathmandu.

Itinerary

  1. Day 1 Kathmandu – Sundarijal – Chisapani (2,150m)

    • Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal (~1 hour)

    • Start your hike through Shivapuri National Park

    • Pass by waterfalls, forest trails, and Tamang villages

    • Reach Chisapani after 4–5 hours of hiking

    • Overnight at a local lodge

  2. Day 2 Chisapani – Nagarkot (2,175m)

    • Enjoy a beautiful sunrise over the Himalayas

    • Begin the hike to Nagarkot (~6–7 hours)

    • Walk through forest trails and hilltop villages

    • Arrive in Nagarkot and enjoy sunset views

    • Overnight at hotel in Nagarkot

  3. Day 3 Nagarkot – Dhulikhel – Kathmandu

    • Watch sunrise over Mt. Everest and other peaks

    • Breakfast and then hike towards Dhulikhel (~4–5 hours)

    • Explore the cultural town of Dhulikhel

    • Drive back to Kathmandu (~1.5–2 hours)

    • Drop-off at your hotel
