All about the Namobuddha Day Tour
Namobuddha is just 3 hour hike from the Dhulikhel. Situated in the lap of the mountain, in the edge of forest, this place has an incredible history behind its creation. There is a main stupa specially dedicated to young prince by his two older brothers.
Namo Buddha, located in Kavre District of Nepal, is a significant pilgrimage site revered by Buddhists worldwide. This sacred site holds deep historical and religious significance and is associated with a powerful tale from the life of Lord Buddha.
According to Buddhism, There was a king named Maharatha and he has three sons. Among them there was young prince named Mahasattva was the incarnation of Sakyamuni Buddha. One day three brothers were passing through the forest. Mahasattva saw a hungry tigress and 5 cubs and hardly moving because of hunger. As Mahasattva was very far from the forest and on his way to the destination, he couldn’t forget hungry tigress and her 5 cubs. Then he moved back and cut his flesh and gave them to eat. Later, his elder brother search him and found his bones and hair.
This act of sacrifice is believed to have occurred at the very spot where the Namo Buddha Stupa stands today. The stupa, a religious monument, is a primary attraction for visitors and pilgrims alike.
