Over 9 days, this tour covers UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley, the birthplace of Buddha in Lumbini, and the picturesque lake city of Pokhara. Itinerary

  1. Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu

    • Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Jatra Travels will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Thamel.
    • After check-in and a short rest, begin your exploration of Thamel.

  2. Day 2 Full-day Heritage Tour in Kathmandu

    Your local city tour guide will pick you up from your hotel after your breakfast at around 9:00 AM. The tour will conclude at approximately 5:00 PM.

    • Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple)

  3. Day 3 Bhaktapur & Nagarkot Excursion

    • After breakfast, you will drive to the Kailashnath Mahadev Statue in Sanga. Following your visit, you will return to Bhaktapur to explore the renowned Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bhaktapur Durbar Square, including the 55-Window Palace, Nyatapola Temple, and Pottery Square.
    • In the afternoon, continue to Nagarkot, a scenic hill station renowned for its breathtaking Himalayan views.
    • Enjoy a spectacular sunset view over the mountains, which includes peaks like Everest and Langtang on a clear day.

  4. Day 4 Nagarkot to Lumbini (Birthplace of Lord Buddha)

     

    • 06:30 AM – 07:30 AM: Early breakfast at your hotel in Nagarkot while enjoying the last glimpses of the Himalayan sunrise.

    • 07:30 AM – 08:00 AM: Check out from the hotel and depart for Lumbini by private vehicle.

    • 08:00 AM – 06:00 PM: Scenic drive to Lumbini (approx. 10–11 hours). Stop en route for short breaks, refreshments, and lunch. Enjoy views of rural Nepal and local life along the way.

    • 06:00 PM – 06:30 PM: Arrive in Lumbini and check into your hotel. Freshen up and relax after the long journey.

    • 06:30 PM – 08:00 PM: Evening visit to Maya Devi Temple, the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha. Explore the surrounding monasteries, including Tibetan, Japanese, and Chinese pagodas, and walk through the peaceful Lumbini Garden. Witness the serene atmosphere of this UNESCO World Heritage Site as the sun sets.

  5. Day 5 Full-day Lumbini Heritage Tour

    • 07:30 AM – 08:00 AM: Depart for Maya Devi Temple, the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha.

    • 08:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Explore Maya Devi Temple, which features the sacred pond, Ashokan pillar, and ancient ruins. Participate in morning prayers if available.

    • 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Visit the Lumbini Monastic Zone, walking through various international monasteries such as Tibetan, Japanese, Thai, Chinese, and Korean monasteries, each displaying unique architecture and culture.

    • Fewa Lake: Also known as Phewa Lake, it is the second-largest freshwater lake in Nepal, located in the beautiful city of Pokhara. The lake offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna range and is surrounded by lush hills. Visitors can enjoy boating, kayaking, and paddleboarding on the lake or simply relax by its shores.
    • Barahi Temple: Situated on an island in Fewa Lake, Barahi Temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Barahi, who is believed to be an incarnation of Goddess Durga. It is a popular pilgrimage site and attracts many devotees, especially during festivals. Visitors can take a boat ride to reach the temple and seek blessings.
    • David's Fall: Also known as PataleChhango, David's Fall is a natural waterfall located in Pokhara. The waterfall originates from the PhusreKhola (stream) and forms an underground tunnel before re-emerging as a cascade. The name "David's Fall" was given in memory of a foreign tourist named David, who lost his life in the waterfall.
    • Gupteshwor Cave: Located near David's Fall, Gupteshwor Cave is a fascinating limestone cave. Inside the cave, there is a Shiva Lingam (representation of Lord Shiva) along with other natural formations. The cave has religious significance and attracts both religious devotees and curious tourists.
    • Shanti Stupa: Shanti Stupa is a prominent attraction in Pokhara, Nepal. It is a pagoda-style monument that holds significant spiritual and historical importance.
