All about the Poon-Hill and Mardi Himal Trek

The Poon Hill Trek is one of Nepal’s most popular short treks, offering stunning sunrise views over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges from Poon Hill (3,210m). This 4-5 day trek passes through charming Gurung villages, lush rhododendron forests, and terraced fields, with moderate difficulty suitable for beginners. The trail starts from Nayapul and includes highlights like Ghorepani and Ghandruk, combining cultural experiences with breathtaking Himalayan scenery.

The Mardi Himal Trek is a quieter, off-the-beaten-path alternative in the Annapurna region, taking trekkers close to the base of Mardi Himal (5,587m). Lasting 5-7 days, and each day walk last for 4-6 hours, the route ascends through forests, alpine meadows, and high ridges, offering dramatic views of Machapuchare (Fishtail) and the Annapurna massif.
